BHEL MIG Park Drive on 1st March 2020
On March 1, we collaborated with Tellapur Municipality for a cleanup drive. As we inspected the area for our drive we noticed a lot of household trash, plastic , diapers along with cloth trash. When one talks about BHEL and Tellapur they say the place is green. But what is saddening is along with all the trees there is so much trash that is being dumped. Twelve of us including core members and volunteers along with the Municipal workers took close to 3 hours to clean this place. Usually after a drive we leave with a sense of fulfillment, but this time we all left with slightly discouraged hearts. No matter how many drives we conduct, unless people understand the importance of segregation of waste and it's management our drives will have only little value. Nevertheless, every drive matters and even a small change matters. We are happy that we are willing to make a change. We're extremely grateful for the support from Tellapur Municipality and a huge thank you to the volunteers who showed up. Onward and upward from here on!
